Soundscapes - reconstructing the past.
Heritage Recording UK specialises in the reconstruction of past soundscapes for museums, & heritage centres and of course for our audio guides and trails.  Examples, include a 1920s street scene in a city for a museum reconstruction, the Charge of the Light Brigade, a cotton mill interior, a morning chorus of birdsong, a sinking ship in a storm, a prehistoric landscape, the opening of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway, a Glasgow shipyard and many similar things.

Our Sound Effects Archive.
We have also recorded some strange and bizarre sounds for our clients such as a blowhole from a secret cave on a headland near Torquay, clogs on setts and cobbles,  an Egyptian temple musical instrument known as a sistrum,(we reconstructed the instrument too) crickets, railway locomotives, 18th century lead miners at work, and perhaps most bizarre a man taking a 'theurapeutic' cold bath at a spa!   We are currently reconstructing the lost sound of 18th century throstle cotton spinning machine for one of our clients!

Click here to listen to a spring morning chorus of birdsong

(We suggest initially keeping your playback volume low before then setting it to your listening requirements.  Birdsong is not intended to be heard loudly.)

If you have a specific requirement for your project please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We love doing reconstructions of sounds of the past and we would love to hear from you!
